About fish

Fish are a relaxing pet and are often bought to brighten or decorate a room. They vary in price depending on the size and type that you want and an be cheap to feed and keep. You will have to pay for the tank and then plants, perhaps some plastic plants and decorations as well as some gravel for the bottom of the tank. If you want a fancy tank then this will be expensive and you will need a good air pump if you want it to stay oxygenated, which will also cost money. Oxygenating the water should help it to stay cleaner and will mean you can have more exotic types of fish. Cleaning the tank is not a very nice job, it means removing the fish, plants and decorations and scrubbing all the slime from the tank and rinsing off the gravel before putting everything back. It can take time and effort and can be dirty and smelly. However if you want a pet that is quiet and doesn’t leave a mess around the house, then the fish is perfect. It will not give much affection and you cannot handle it but it could be good as a first pet for a child, a decorative feature or just a fun accessory.
